CCME Foundation Offering Grants to Improve Health Care Quality in the Carolinas3/30/2022
Cary, NC - The CCME Foundation, a nonprofit organization supporting health care improvement in the Carolinas, is accepting applications from eligible nonprofit organizations that work to improve health care for individuals and communities through measurable outcome improvement projects. One-year grants from $5,000 up to $50,000 will be awarded based on a project's impact on health care improvements and access for individuals and communities, particularly the uninsured and under-served populations. Applications may be submitted beginning April 1, 2022, through June 15, 2022 (5 p.m.) at CCME Foundation. Awards will be announced August 1, 2022.
Applicants with current 501(c)(3) status will be considered, including faith-based, hospital/provider/clinic, educational institutions and community service organizations. Programs should focus on healthy lifestyles and quality of life; increasing access to culturally and linguistically appropriate care; consumer-centered care and decision making; dissemination of education and health-related information; and patient safety improvement. The CCME Foundation will not fund reimbursable direct patient care services, facility construction/remodeling of facilities, lobbying, and fundraising activities. All awardees will be required to submit online quarterly progress reports throughout the contract period. The CCME Foundation Board of Directors will determine the awardees.
"We are excited to award the grants to support health care programs focused on better care for patients and improved outcomes," said CCME Foundation Chairman Donald J. DiPette, MD, FACP, FAHA.
CCME President and CEO Steven Martin, MHA, FACHE, CPHQ, noted that CCME has collectively worked with health care providers, stakeholders, and advocates for more than three decades, and funding the grants is the right thing to do to help patients and the communities. "It is truly a rewarding feeling to give back to the people and communities who dedicate their time and energy to improve health care systems and peoples' lives," he said.
Established in 2019, the CCME Foundation is funded by The Carolinas Center for Medical Excellence (CCME), a separate nonprofit organization founded more than 37 years ago to improve health care quality in the Carolinas. This marks the second year the foundation is awarding grants to improve health care.
